Renville reigns supreme in Suffolk Match play

The County Match play finals took place at Stowmarket Golf Club.

Sam Renville (Bury St Edmunds), beat his fellow club member Ben Aves by 2 holes in the final of the Suffolk Amateur Match play to take the Presidents Mashie. Renville had previously overcome Thomas Piddington 

(Felixstowe Ferry) 2 & 1 in the semi- final, Aves having beaten Rueben Harvey (Aldeburgh), the Suffolk Open Champion, by the same score in his semi-final.

The Junior title went to Jack Rust (Flempton) who defeated William Adams (Felixstowe Ferry) by 1 hole. Rust beat Patrick Coffey 5 & 3 in his semi-final, whilst Adams beat Bailee Taylor (Felixstowe Ferry) 2 & 1. 

In the Seniors event Paul Buckle (Aldeburgh) achieved the double, having already won the Seniors 

Championship, beating Seniors County Captain, Steven Duffety (Bury St Edmunds) in the final 3 & 2. Buckle had previously beaten Simon Bearman (Hintlesham) in the semi-final 5 & 4, whilst Duffety had beaten Simon Goldsmith (Rookery Park) by 1 hole.
